CANT CONNECT TO SQL SERVER

hi,

i cant connect to the sql server 2005,it was able to connect few days ago.

the prompt out error is

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with my SQL SERVER

Look in the SQl Server Configuration Manager under, "SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration" --> "Protocols for <InstanceName>" --> Various protocols. Each protocol (beside the "Shared memory" entry) has to be enabled to use it. perhaps somebody disabled some entries and lcoked you out ?

HTH, jens Suessmeyer.
